As a licensed user you are entitled to free bugfixes and minor updates. So if you have CFS-BeamDesign 1.0, then all releases with a version number of the form 1.0.x are free.

When the version number changes to something like 1.1 or 1.4, you will need to purchase an upgrade. This upgrades will have an upgrade price, which of course will be much lower than the full price.
